All our development activities take place in-house. In addition to the conceptual design and application of energy storage systems, we also develop software components and carry out simulations. This enables us to optimally coordinate all system components and respond flexibly to customer requirements.

At the company location in Garching, we are in direct contact with TÜV SÜD AG. Prototype testing and certification can be carried out quickly and easily at any time.

Who we are

LION Smart is an innovative development/engineering services provider for OEMs and suppliers operating in a wide variety of major industry sectors, including automotive, construction, agricultural machinery, and maritime applications. With over a decade of experience, the company specializes in supplying battery management systems integration expertise and custom battery pack development for vehicle concepts.

Through in-house research programs, LION Smart is redefining battery capacity limits with development of the modular LIGHT Battery – a more compact, robust, and highly efficient lithium-ion system displaying class leading power to weight performance. Combined with proprietary battery management systems (BMS) and expert consultation services, the company offers next generation solutions that strive for innovation and sustainability at every level.

Garching, Germany based LION Smart maintains close partnerships with several universities and research centers in the greater Munich area, and operates battery testing laboratories for electrical storage systems in a joint venture with TÜV SÜD AG (TÜV SÜD Battery Testing GmbH). LION Smart also serves the North American battery technology market in partnership with sister company LION E-Mobility North America, Inc.
