LION Smart concludes second private placement and welcomes new advisory board members

LION Smart GmbH, tester and developer of lithium-ion batteries for industrial applications, has successfully concluded its second private placement and expects closing in early 2010. Next to the founders, several private investors participated in this equity financing.
The company also welcomes Prof. Dr. habil. Martin Leucker and Dr. Martin Sachenbacher from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as new advisory board members. They will work with LION Smart in the fields of battery modeling and software architecture.
Mr. Leucker and Mr. Sachenbacher have established the field of energy informatics at TUM, which focuses on the application of methods developed in computer science to model and reason about energy aspects of systems, especially in the area of electric vehicles.
Mr. Leucker is currently a professor at TUM in the field of computer science and the author of more than 70 reviewed conference and journal papers. Mr. Sachenbacher heads the Emmy Noether junior research group “Constraint-based Models and Algorithms for Self-Diagnosis and Planning” at the department of computer science at TUM.
Both are currently involved in the project e-Tour Allgäu, a larger German project to optimize the usage of electric vehicles in rural areas.
