LION Smart is working on a research project, supporting the European Union in the aviation industry in implementation of electric powertrains

LION Smart has been working on a cooperation project for some time, supported by the funding of the project Clean Sky 2 Joint Undertaking and the European Unions’ Horizon 2020, in cooperation with TWT GmbH and Dassault Aviation and support by Hon. Prof. Paul H. Riley as well as Dr. Obrad Dordevic. The aim of the project is to achieve a significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in the aerospace industry by electric drive. This is linked to higher energy storage capacities, higher performance, lower total mass and lower volume, as well as better management of heat energy. Currently we are working on a prototype battery kit for the status TRL4,  to demonstrate compliance with the mass and electrical performance targets as well as the thermal protection of the lithium cells.
